I don't know if anybody saw my post about printing problems yesterday...
I updated from r37420 to r37490 the night before last. Almost 24 hours later, the printing problems happened. I rebooted, which fixed the problem, but then I noticed r37495 was out so I loaded it up.
I've now been on r37495 for 26 hours and printers are still working just fine, even via AirPrint. So it must have been some weird hiccup or a problem isolated in r37490. _________________ Routing:.......Asus RT-AX88U (Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14) Switching:....Netgear GS608_V3 & GS605_V4, TrendNet TEG-S82G & TEG-S50G

qos still bad. 802.11r doesnt work, turn it on, apply, setting reverts itself. manually put in the config, hostapd doesnt start.. (i conclude after all those commits BS did for adding this, he didnt even test it
That's interesting...didn't know 802.11r was even on the table for DD-WRT. The SVN ticket looked like a pretty old one that was brought back to life recently. Was there some new development that lead to this being included in builds now?
added to *some* routers a few weeks ago, but its completely broken..
I am sure you already know but there is an ethtool package for entware. I just installed it but have not tried anything yet. opkg install ethtool
Edit 1: Never mind
root@7500v2:~# ethtool -C $ETH_NAME adaptive-tx on
ethtool: bad command line argument(s)
For more information run ethtool -h
Edit 2: root@7500v2:~# ethtool -C eth0 adaptive-tx on
Cannot set device coalesce parameters: Operation not supported
root@7500v2:~# ethtool -C eth1 adaptive-tx on
Cannot set device coalesce parameters: Operation not supported
Edit 3: Tried it on the laptop runnung Kubuntu.
pw@pw-dv6000:~$ ethtool -C eth1 adaptive-tx on
Cannot get device coalesce settings: Operation not supported
i never understood those addon package things, every guide i seen was a command line mess that never worked, but doesnt seem like the command is changeable anyway.. _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Tonight Router hanged up again, after midnight, without any reason, no CPU stress, no WAN fail, just stopped respondinbg...in the morning i went to see it and it seems to be working, but no network at all,it needed powercycle again this is frustrating, i will abandon k4 , seems that is not working at all, back to k3!

k4, at least till k4.14 anyway, is trash and should be pulled off kernel.org imo. even broadcom users starting to have our qos problem too apparently.
utter trash.
on the other hand, what about qos cake? brainslayer loves to blindly merge everything openwrt into ddwrt (broken and all), except qos... or we'd have cake. and what about k4.18, .19? anything look different in there for ipq thats worth attempting a port to test? _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

Having Routers with both chipsets i confirm it, k4 sucks everywhere, have hang up issues even on broadcomm, just some old atheros are working well with it, TL-WR1043ND TL-WDR3600ND working great, but all newest and most expensive routers are just crap!

K4.9 is in development and by all accounts it's working rather well for some testers. Not well for all testers of course and for various versions of Qualcomm ipq 806X. But it is a work in progress. K3.18 last and final update was now several months old and it's supposed to be the stable and final version, so it's working for most of us. I am still hanging on to the k4.9 kernel in hope for better security and eventual better performance. _________________ Netgear R7800(2), R7500v2(2) WDS, Asus RT-AC68R (2)

Cake does not work with imq, if we want to use cake we have to completely redesign qos and most likely also drop a few qos functions we currently ship.
