Hello,

I have recently bought a Amazon cloud cam security camera. I have a LinkSys ACS 1900 v2 router. I have setup 2.4 and 5GHz wifi. I couldn't connect the camera to this ( 2.4 GHz,as camera supports only this ) 2.4GHz wifi. But the camera can connect to the wifi hotspot which I created using my samsung Mobile phone. (Same issue was there with wyze camera ). I have updated the firmware to latest ( firmware - 2018-7-28 ). All my other devices can connect to this wifi ( 2.4Ghz ) correctly. Issue is only with security cameras. As the camara is connecting properly to mobile hotspot, I am not sure whether it is a camera issue, dd-wrt settings issue.

Note : Camera can also connect to LinkSys router with Stock firmware. Issue is only with dd-wrt based router. I have posted the same question to Amazon forum and yet to get a reply on this.

Currently I am using a second LinkSys router with stock firmware as a work around. Appreciate if you can provide some hints/suggestions to make this work with DD-WRT router. I have tried toggling UPNP, but it didn't help.

Any help is really appreciated.

I enabled the logs and checked the logs today. Got the following error messages. Any ideas?

Lot of devices are having issues connecting with the last several builds. Until it's fixed the workaround is to disable WMM.
If this causes problems for other wireless devices on your network you can create a VAP (Virtual Access Point aka Guest Network) with WMM disabled and use it specifically for your camera.

Thanks for the reply.

Could you please let me know how to disable WMM ?
I am using the firmware ( ddwrt-linksys-wrt1900acv2-webflash.bin ) dated 2018-8-22. (v3.0 Beta Build 36698 ).

I did check the DD-WRT settings and couldn't find any setting related to WMM. Is it named differently?

Note: I did a quick only and I am at work now.

It's under Wireless Settings. Check the Advanced Settings box to expand.

I have tried the following disabling WMM. It didn't help.

1 Created a new VAP and disabled WMM via Advanced Settings. Camera is refused to connect to this. Didn't help.

2. Disabled WMM in the existing 2.4GHZ wifi. Camera still refusing to connect.

Logs below. Any help is appreciated.

Here's a shot in the dark. I have an Epson Printer that refuses to connect to my 3200 so I put it on a 1900 V1 where it works but drops out every few hours and reconnects. After doing a bit of research I found that the printer relies on WPA security where I am set to WPA2 personal. I reactivated my 3200 2.4ghz but with WPA2 Personal Mixed and lo and behold my printer connects immediately. It appears that even when you select WPA2 on the Linksys firmware it still will do a negotiate on WPA as a default whereas with DD-WRT you must specify WPA or WPA2 mixed to gain full access to WPA devices. As a side note the 1900 V2 appears to be a mirror of 1900ACS whereas my 1900 V1's are a different breed so I can't really verify results for your situation. You will find here on the board a load of concerns with the 1900ACS and thereby may find some answers.

Thanks for the suggestion. But it didn't help. I created a new VAP (with WMM disabled ) with out any security ( no password). Still the camera is refusing to connect. The camera connects fine to stock firmware as well as wifi hotspot from my mobile phone.

Unfortunate that it didn't help. Just as an after thought, did you reboot your router after making the wireless changes. When I was doing my testing I thought I made no difference by changing settings even though the router dropped WiFi and restarted, but when I rebooted the router my changes took effect.

You might be able to get more help if you provide information from the Syslog. Turn on syslog in Services and monitor in Status > Syslog.

Once syslog is turned on, attempt a connect with your cloudcams.

As a side note, when I disabled wmm so as to get my Sonoff devices working I lost my cams. Previously I mentioned that I changed my security to mixed WPA2 and my printer has not dropped out since, then again that is on my 1900 V1.

I tried the experiment after rebooting the modem. It didn't help. Logs was shared with earlier posts.

I apologize for the log comment. My head was elsewhere when I made the comment. Hope that someone else on the forum has struggled with the problem and can offer advice. I had to activate additional routers to work around similar problems and am hoping for some resolution as I don't have a spare for now. Ironically I did find that stock firmware worked but I needed WDS links which are not available in stock and because I have a 100 device static list, entry manually would be a chore I don't want. Incidentally I have 3200's linked WDS which operate flawlessly, they just won't fully co-operate with my 1900's or 1200.

No issues and thanks for the time take to respond.

I am using one more router ( LinkSys 3200 ) with stock firmware as a work around. Only camera is connected to this router. This works fine as of now. But I would like to get rid of this additional router and use only DD-WRT router for all devices.
