Hi
Does anyone know if the old Asus N56U with ddwrt can achieve better gigabit speeds than the Verizon Quantum g1100 router?

Are there any recommended settings within DDWRT i should use?

Thanks!

Only firmware besides stock I know of for the RT-N56U is either Padavan or OpenWRT. Merlin doesn't even support it (anymore?)....

Merlin never did. It’s not a Broadcom unit.

Ya, OpenWRT is the best bet for the N56U (rev A1 at least), but it's Ralink RT3662F @500MHz won't be faster than a Cortina WPCE7542E: dual ARM Cortex A9 with Broadcom wireless (BCM4331 & BCM4360) in the G1100.
