I'm not, but the thread title doesn't match the question he made I think making the forum tidier is a work of all of us. The issue I think is the tone. Your posts often sound like decrees and orders instead of suggestions.
People chafe at that.
Maybe you should have said “it might be better if you post your problem here or there” instead. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
It looks like it's the wan.
I use R6400v2 and reset nvram.
I tested my connection on cable (connection is Gb) on stock and had full speed (200Mb), on dd only 7Mb, I have to wait for load web pages.
If I use Netflix very often stops playing and when caching movies.

I have almost 300 Mb without Shortcut Forwarding Engine and 650 Mb/s throughput LAN <> WAN with SFE turned on, on my R6400v2 with the latest Kong build

I have a customer who really needs DD-WRT on an R6700v3. Unfortunately, after trying both the Kong and the Brainslayer builds on it, I've had to revert it to the factory firmware. Why? Because PPP-based protocols do not work properly. They either do not start up when the router is booted or fail to re-establish a connection once the initial one is broken.
As an ISP (most of us use PPP-based protocols because they provide authentication, allow assignment of IP addresses at login time, help to prevent IP spoofing, and provide a separate virtual interface on the gateway for each customer), I need PPP-based protocols such as PPPoE, L2TP, and PPTP to work reliably. So, I had to revert the customer's router. Please test these builds and get PPP-based protocols working!

As a total newbie, the first thing I did was to visit the dd-wrt>>Router Database page ( https://dd-wrt.com/support/router-database/ ) and download the latest recommended build for my E900. I used the associated wiki to learn how to install - and I read the complete peacock thread (printed as PDF on my laptop to read multiple times). Then with a lot of fear ... I started to work at loading dd-wrt. Have never believed in any other router firmware since then. I was converted with my first upgrade!!
This is what most newbies will tend to do. Wouldn't you agree?
* The official Router page needs to be updated with versions that actually work with the 6400v2.
* The installation wiki needs to be updated (or added) with what egc has initiated here. This router is not a R6300v2.
Someone influential ... please help with the updating activities. I am sure all will agree that this is overdue and very necessary.

Try "erase nvram" from Command Line Interface / Putty and put settings in manually
You inspired me to change firmware to dd.
Before I started I cheked the connection speed on stock firmware on wifi 5GHz and 2.4
5 GHz was 150 Mb and 2.4 was 80-90 Mb.
5 minutes later I had DD with clean memory. I set only wlan and lan and I repeated connection speed (same servers). Results was withering. 5Ghz has 7Mb, 2.4 has 3 Mb.
Tell my why there are such differences with speeds. I have two other devices (TP-Link) and there are no such problems. Both working on DD.
Now I come back to stock.
