This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 29440_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

openvpn config that worked in the 5/31 Kong build no longer works here (I launch with my own script). OpenSSL and OpenVPN versions has not changed across these two releases - any one ran into this?

Firmware: D-WRT v3.0-r36325M kongac ( 07/19/18 )
Kernel: Linux 4.4.140 #574 SMP Thu Jul 19 23:21:12 CEST 2018 armv7l
Status: Working

Errors: 5GHz is listed but after selecting it, password won't authenticate. Insists that the password is incorrect.

- Previous build was v3.0-r36070M, the 5GHz was working until about 2-3 days ago. The 5GHz would seldomly appear and reappear. If it was selected to be connected to it would disappeared.
- OpenVPN is working. Connected my VPN service (hidemya**)
- NAS works

Reset: Yes, erased nvram before and after flashing

So far so good on my end. I have a fairly simple setup broadcasting three SSIDs.

DNSMasq, Encrypt DNS (resolver = dnscrypt.ca Server 1), Cache DNSSec Data, DNSSEC all appears to be working fine.

This one is just broadcasting two of the previous SSIDs on different channels. The R8000 is doing the heavy lifting. This build is working fine for me.

Item of note regarding this, I don't get any latency with the latest Firefox when using https with the web gui.

update: 36070M --> 36325M
status: operational
reset: no
errors: HTTPS interface is *really* slow to connect. It's consistently stuck at the "establishing secure connection" message in chromium for a solid 30 seconds.

For more on this issue (reported by me, others have confirmed):
https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1127946&highlight=slow#1127946

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1130407&highlight=slow#1130407

The only way to circumvent it, is to start chromium like this:
Code:
chromium --ignore-certificate-errors https://192.168.1.1

As it disables a local address, I suppose it is an acces via LAN. If he knows who is on the LAN, there should be no problem.

My errors are with OpenVPN server (folks with clients seem to be working correcting).

This shows up on syslog:
ERROR: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun: No such file or directory (errno=2)

I use TUN — and I can work around this by loading the tun module manually

modprobe tun

However, this was not necessary before (although tun was not among the list of loaded modules in the previous build either).

Has this build changed what module would load automatically?
