After some advice on restoring Linksys WRT32x
I have TTL cable if required which i suspect i will.
i received a cocked up Linksys WRT32x router after it goes through the boot process i get a flashing power light and lan light, seems i am unable to ping it on 192.168.1.1
i don't know the history what was done to get it into this state as i took a punt on buying it like this.
i was hoping to get it back working to use the 1.8ghz cpu for faster VPN through speeds but first i need to get it to some sort of bootable state if possible either Stock or DD-WRT it will end up hopefully on DD-WRT obviously.
what is the process on attaching the serial are there hearders link on Netgera r7000? if so may i ask what the pin out is and what the process would be to stop it ready to take firmware.
Massive thanks in advance for your time replying any help you give

Would it be possible to obtain that for restore. I took out my new wrt32x being hasty. Used the last update like a fool to try and restore from the dd-wrt image I had. May have to send in but if I can address it could restore that. thx
About venom.img that's floating around here, it is -not- an official Linksys compiled firmware but compiled from GPL source by inteliboy from this thread.
On page 9 it has been shown that this method of compiling a flat image was unnecessary and frankly his actions were a disservice, harming relations as GPL source downloads were taken offline.
Though the inteliboy image is commonly referred to as venom.img, it's identical to the rango.img from that same thread via zippyshare. You will also find this same image named FW_WRT32X_1.0.170919.nonjenkins-inteliboy-1619.img ...
The conversion method provided by adi-brasov has been successfully replicated by others using official Linksys sysupgrade firmware to create a flat image for use with serial flash.
Here is the current version flat image, properly converted.
I'm not sure if its too much to ask. But would someone be able to do a short step-by-step guide from the topic of this post. I noticed a lot of edits and don't see attached fw links, etc. I have ddwrt flashed on both partitions unfortunately so I need to start from the bottom up. I really regret installing ddwrt on this router as the wireless speeds are abysmal compared to my r7000 with the same build.

Wireless speeds are actually excellent with DD-WRT on the WRT32X. Maybe you have not set it up correctly? _________________ Linksys WRT32X v1 - r45677

The speeds are about the same for how I want the router configured as well as total default settings. Link speeds just fail to exceed 100mbps on 5g and significantly lower than that on 2.4g.
Venom on p1 and DD-WRT on p2
Booting on p1 Venom stock - what is the putty command to change partition to p2 please?
I know how to power cycle 3 times to switch partitions.
I tried the ubootenv get boot_part but that gives ubootenv not found
thanks in advance
Could someone make an updated post on this topic? There are so many "edited" that I panic to try because I do not know where to start _________________ Linksys WRT32X Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r47510
