I just d/l the factory-ddwrt on a new r7800 and I cant log in...tried root/admin but no go...I also noticed the router already has a host name of FreeSpirit... help!

Router Model: Netgear R7800 Status: appears okay Reset: no Errors: Did in-place upgrade and afterwards could not access the GUI. Power light was flashing white/amber alternating. Can someone confirm if the right file is for Linksys EA-8500, Md5 doenst match ,seems its still the old file r36175.

Linksys EA8500 r36375M MD5 matches just fine Smile

Did You download the ddwrt-Linksys-EA8500.bin from http://desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-IPQ806X/Test/ ???? 'ddwrt-Linksys-EA8500[8].bin' looks like you may have several in your download directory. I put them in directory by file name/date so easier to keep up with. Might clear browser cache and download again.

Tried on laptop and downloads the right file, on Windows server 2016 PC doesnt! whats wrong here?

yes i tried to download it many times, every time the same issue, when i changed computer i got the right one, thats weird!! probably something with cache? The Funny is thet windows Server 2016 PC is still downloading the old file!!

No reset. Installed over Kong_36175M

Only find one problem with things I use ----
Connected to ovpn server local DNS does not/will not work if unbound is running.
You can push a public DNS in the ovpn server config and you can go anywheres but of
course you have NO local DNS. Disable unbound and all works as it should.
'bout all I know

oh yea, NAT loopback for FTP works fine.
BTW the ovpn server works great on the other EA8500 (same build). Used as just a switch & ovpn server
and of course the main routers IP is pushed as DNS in it's ovpn server config.
