Hi, what is the best firmware to use for a WNDR3300 that will allow use of OpenVPN?

I'm currently running 'SVN revision 12548M NEWD Eko' but finding it quite slow at times I think due to lack of memory.

I want to use the router as an access point for wifi devices. Ideally I want it to connect through a VPN so that I can access other Geo locations etc. Is this even possible if VPN is not on my main router?
