I too have Archer C9 HW V5
Question was asced more then month ago, and no reply....
What about support Archer C9 HW V5?
I have UART console connected with root access.
But when I trying mtd write archer-c9v4-webflash.bin rootfs tells that mtd locked
Code:
Could not open mtd device: rootfs
Can't open device for writing!
root@Akronite:/# mtd unlock /dev/mtd3
Could not open mtd device: /dev/mtd3
Could not open mtd device: /dev/mtd3
Get the flash layout then wait for Kong release fw. you can post what going inside. all have same in linux os.
cd /proc
then do cli such:
cat /proc/mtd //how many mtd and what kind
cat /proc/partitions //layout block of mtd
cat /proc cpuinfo //what type of cpu
cat /proc/iomem //structure of sdram
wl -a ethx revinfo //what type of wl chipset
wl srdump //internal eeprom of wl
cd /sbin then ls -s //cli
cd /bin then ls -s //cli for copy or etc...
then back fw up to usb device
check size of kernel=size of FW-rootfs
then you can looking for ddwrt that have compatible until Kong release support.
check fcc id on the back of router and do google search.
https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicationAttachment.html?id=3606514
it haves FLA1: 16 MiB (Winbond W25Q128FVSG) ???
should be 2MB spi IC for boot, nvram and 128MBx8bit esmt flash IC for FW.

Please make a firmware for the TP-Link Archer C9 v5, i am requesting you guys at the dd-wrt. I would love to see my router booting into dd-wrt firmware.
My Archer C9 v5 is acting up with stock firmware. I came here hoping to find support for this router. Like everyone else, I would love to see support added for this router!

Any update on this? I recently bought a TP-Link since it was supported by DD-WRT but found out that it is v5 which I do not see a firmware for or any comments on if we can use the build for v4 without issue.

Broadcom HW is outdated right now. Especially MIPS based devices. I don't even have a single unit with this soc.
ARM broadcom will get more attention again once we receive new broadcom based units. But right now it is more fun to play with atheros, especially when you don't have to workaround the number of issues broadcoms nas has.

Has anyone donated a sacrificial device to BrainSlayer to port it? Serial dumps submitted? There is required information needed to port a build. Has anyone tried flashing the v4.x firmware for giggles? .....
