I have been trying for the entire night, there is no way I can get wan ip from my ericsson ont. I have clone the WAN mac address to be same as the router given but somehow it does not give the WAN IP with Automatic Configuration - DHCP. I try to emulate using the same IP address and gateway using static IP but still not luck, uptime still show as not available. I can see link status is up from switch config. I know vlan tagging is required but that is for tagging the eth1, ath0 and ath1 for vid 10. Or there is something I need to do if it is iPOE. There is no login detail btw as it is fiber optic. Dun think i need to tag eth0 right? I am running on DD-WRT v3.0-r42819 std (03/30/20).

Try this to set vid 10 on WAN.

swconfig dev switch0 set enable_vlan 1
swconfig dev switch0 vlan 2 set ports "0t 5"
swconfig dev switch0 vlan 2 set vid 10
swconfig dev switch0 set apply

Thanks for your prompt reply!

How do I check whether the port been tagged?
I did a
Code:
nvram show | grep vlan* | sort

I can see vlan2.10_hwaddr = my cloned mac, do i need to change the one vlan10_hwaddr to the same mac.

Actually what I wanted to do is have the connection coming from my ONT untagged, as I require vid 10 piority 0 for internet and vid 20 piority 4 for IPTV but the IPTV will not be using the switch of r7800.

I wonder whether is possible to connect another switch to r7800 untagged, so I can tag vid 10 and vid 20 on the ports of the other switch.

Example:
R7800
WAN Port -> ONT
Port 1 -> Internet (Vid 10)
Port 2 -> Internet (Vid 10)
Port 3 -> Internet (Vid 10)
Port 4 -> Switch (untagged)

Other Switch:
Port 1 -> R7800 (untagged)
Port 2 -> IPTV (Vid 20)
Port 3 -> Internet (Vid 10)
Port 4 -> Internet (Vid 10)
Port 5 -> Internet (Vid 10)

swconfig dev switch0 show

Is the switch a managed type or smart switch?

Run a tagged trunk between switch and R7800.

I am using a smart switch TP-LINK TL-SG105E. So far no luck with the wan ip. Will erase and reboot and set again.

actually i managed to get it working with the stock firmware but there is some limitation of what the vlan can do.

The connection type i was using dhcp for the wan. This screen shot from netgear for another model, mine only have 4 ports.

Didn't you get a WAN connection?

It appears that the ONT does not have anything on vid10.

Are you sure this information is correct?
what ISP is this?

Anyway i saw another thread which mention i need to use VLAN 10 instead of VLAN 2 but the example is shown using the UI for the Switch Config and changing wan assignment to VLAN 10. I figure out how to switch to VLAN 10 for ports 0t and 5. What is the command to do wan assignment?

We have set vid10. That is the same thing as VLAN10.

Found this long topic

https://community.ui.com/questions/UniFi-in-Singapore-SingTel-home-fiber/b20170fe-d938-4158-bab2-b68a4fe0dae7?page=1

Put into Administration->Commands->Startup:

swconfig dev switch0 set enable_vlan 1
swconfig dev switch0 vlan 2 set ports "0t 5"
swconfig dev switch0 vlan 2 set vid 10
swconfig dev switch0 vlan 20 set ports "0t 5t"
swconfig dev switch0 set apply
vconfig add eth0 20

If still no connection, run tcpdump -i eth0

At least you should see the BOTP packets go out.

Actually I am not worry about the iptv yet, just that i do not know why i cannot get the wan ip, so far no issue with other routers or stock firmware, anyway i used telnet to run the command. I wonder could it be firmware issue, should I use kong's version.

When the router ask for an IP address, do you see a reply from your ISP?

Will try again when I have time during weekend, I find out something interesting about the router from the ISP. When i connect the smart switch to the switch of the router, it works without me doing any tagging at all. There is an IPTV and a mac mini connected to that switch and it is able to get the correct packets.
