I haven't encountered the httpd crash on my Asus RT-AC66U but see the nas crash many times daily. I found out that If I pull the power for 30 seconds each morning and start it back up, it will only crash 0 - 1 time during the day. If I don't do that, nas crashes 5 - 10 times per day.
I've been keeping my eye on this ticket and hope it catches the attention of the devs.

Smells like memory leak... maybe null pointer assignment again in the WEBUI?
No telling on the memory leak, but that wouldn't surprise me if it's related to both crashes. They're both memory fault/error-related.
Memory leaks and null pointer assignments are easy to inject, deliberately or not. It's not a bad way of delaying a project and make some money. Then you make tools to uncover these problems, which themselves might leak and .... a negative feedback loop to make even more money. More, you use psychology by claiming that no programmers could avoid memory leaks. Ha ha....
NOT talking about DD-WRT, but those big software companies.

Router/Version: TPLINK Archer C9 v1
Firmware: 36079 (upgrading from 34578 through webflash)
Kernel: 4.4
Mode: Gateway + DHCP + LocalDNS + AP (2.4+5Ghz) + Openvpn Server
Status: works (with ebtables workaround https://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5807)
Has 40-50% CPU usage (as reported by top) due to httpd (34578 has only 1-2%) which leads to an extra 2°C for CPU temp
--> I'm going back to 34578 for now due to the cpu usage and unecessary CPU temp
Router/Version: Linksys E1000 v2.1
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r36079 mini (06/01/18)
Kernel: Linux 2.6.24.111 #2428 Fri Jun 1 00:52:56 CEST 2018 mips
Mode: Client
Status: initial evaluation: working as before upgrade from earlier dd wrt
effortless flashing using the GUI, no 30-30-30 resets before or after. no reconfiguration needed.
