Router/Version: Linksys EA6500 V1
Mode: ap + wan disabled + samba
Kernel:
Linux 3.19.108-d10

Attempting to execute tcpdump after installing through entware shows errors

Error relocating /opt/lib/libpcap.so.1: getnetbyname_r: symbol not found
Error relocating /opt/lib/libpcap.so.1: getprotobyname_r: symbol not found

Currently there are other posts on the forum dating back to January without solutions of this problem hidden within the individual build update threads.

You have to install the libpcap package via Entware. I'm surprised it didn't resolve that dependency. This is not a firmware problem, this is a user / Entware problem.

Actually I have installed the libpcap library via Entware as well. The more I look into it it seems like the Entware library/build for libpcap or tcpdump must be out of date or incompatible with dd-wrt.

libpcap.so.1 is located in /opt/lib

Probably a kernel version issue. May have to use the .ipk files from here:
