Hi guys i,m new here hope your all well.

I have an old netgear router that i have not used in years and i was hoping to hand it over to my sister to see if it improves her BB..otherwise i will just get a newer model for her but id like to try.

The firmware currently on this router is
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) std-nokaid
(SVN revision 14896)

However i would like to upgrade but i have read some later releases can brick this particular router so treading on glass could i have some help please.

She wont need any special functions, just good wireless and dos support for her sons xbox if poss so mini bin i assume will suffice...

I realise the router could get bricked anyway so if it happens it happens but any pointers to a known release that works would be great and as i,m a bit rusty help on flashing would be great too.

I take it nobody has latest info then, do i just stick with 2010 software and hope for the best.

Infact ddwrt on any router looks to be dangerous now, lots of broken links and suggestions that the actual ddwrt router database is out of date, very hard to get your head around these days so its no wonder bricked routers happens a lot.

Your device is Broadcom, you might get better results asking in that forum. If no one else has one it is hard to give a report. Router database is less out of date now, Other Downloads-Beta's has all the builds now.(Not yesterdays yet). Lots of changes in 8 years for firmware, Gotta be worth a try.
