Hello, I am running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/19/12) mini on my ASUS RT-N12 D1. It is setup as Repeater connecting to a xfinitywifi hotspot. I have cloned the MAC to a registered device associated with my xfinity account. Ethernet and wireless connections work great until it hops to a different xfinitywifi AP requiring me to site survey/join all over again or reboot the router.

Is there a way to connect to one specific AP by MAC? The MAC filtering doesnt work and because my router is not an atheros, it does not use the wpa_supplicant.conf for BSSID. I have also been trying to use the AutoAP script in the hopes to use its MAC filtering, but I cant get it to connect at all.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

That's a really old build so I can't be certain this will work, but every build on my CellSpot flashed to stock RT-AC68U router since December 2016 has worked with this exact setup (not that I flashed every single build, but every few months I would flash a new DD-WRT build). My router, in Repeater mode, has the same problem you have experienced -- if I don't set specific MAC addresses for the WLAN interface connected to the Xfinity Hotspot, then it just bounces around randomly.

By the looks of things, seems like you can flash a newer build on your ASUS RT-N12 D1. Maybe it's just a bug and MAC address filtering would work in these newer builds? On the DD-WRT wiki for your router I see support for a the generic mega build and possible the generic mini would work as well. I also found a more recent forum post stating a build that is tested as working on your model.
