Just about to pull the trigger on a Linksys WRT3200ACM but reading the posts seem people are having issues flashing the firmware. I read older models seem to be ok but newer nands are not.
Have the problems been resolved or should I look at another model (WRT1900ACS) or another brand

Yes, it has, (new Windbond chips) just don't try the newest release, apparently causing reboots.
Up to you if you want to try a different brand, in the newer posts you can see a few going to Netgear products.
