Good morning all,

This is my first post, so I apologize if I do something wrong here.

I've been running DDWRT on routers ever since my first WRT54Gv2.2 and have never had a stability problem, just the occasional things not working. Which is usually fixed in the next release or two.

Over the last month or two of updates, r32170 & r32597, if I push the router over 3000 mb WAN (wired or wireless LAN)for over a few minutes, it will literally get stuck in a reboot loop for several minutes, then come back online.

I then factory reset it, then loaded all the settings I had backed up beforehand in the nvram.bin file. Still, I have problems. So I started a warranty process with cisco/linksys and they of course gave me crap because of opensource firmware EVEN THOUGH they encourage it's use , then claimed it killed my warranty. Well I put the factory firmware back on from KONG and then updated with the latest linksys(albeit ancient) firmware and I'm now holding 7000 mb constant for hours with no failures. I've never had this happen before.

Thoughts anyone?

Had you read through the forum here you would have found out that the wrt1900aac v1's have reboot issues with newer builds because of the kernel being 4.9.x. For some reason this kernel causes them to reboot at various times. Both Openwrt/LEDE and Brainslayer are trying to figure out what the problem is.
In the mean time, if you want to run a 3rd party firmware that is up to date driver wise you can install davidc502's LEDE firmware. It makes use of the 4.4 kernel for the wrt1900ac v1's. Here is link to his latest.

You can give this a try.

To get the custom v1 build with the 4.4.x kernel, make sure you grab the version labeled
Code:
1900ac Version 1 owners may experience REBOOTING issues, if so, use this build Here

hi,
I recently installed dd-wrt on my wrt1900ac v1 and have reboot issues. Does anybody know if the reboot issues mentioned above have been fixed or still exist? This will help me in my troubleshooting.
Thanks!

Not fixed. Here is thread you should have read rather then asking. It is on first page. You need to be logged into see the file downloads on the first entry.

Unless BS does a special build using the 4.4 kernel it probably won't be in my opinion.

IMPORTANT
Read threads in my sig if you have not already. Lots of good info about the WRT's, such as the 2 partitions, how to switch, etc.

I do apologize if this isn't posted correctly in the right thread however since I seen the wrt 1900 i thought I would follow up with my own related issue. It does seem similar but a little different, I have dd-wrt installed on my Linksys 1900acs router with PIA software as extra security for all my devices. I did utilized the pia forums and help site to help me install pia configuration.I've been having issues since with dd-wrt control panel Status and then Open VPN tab. I go under tab select open vpn and its not running at all until I reboot the router and than it regenerates, populates the coding but I have to do this each and every time it should stay populated so it will mask my ip address but it does not until I reboot router. Is there something wrong with the code or my router wrt?. I sure could use your help.....thanks...
