Hello,

Have
dd-wrt (DD-WRT v3.0-r33525 std (10/17/17)

running on
TP-Link TL-WR841ND v9

I have Fios 100/100 plan and checked speed at the junction port and am getting 100/100 (down/up).

However, connected via cable to router, I get only (50 down/70 up) and am trying to find where the loss is occuring.

I do have one QoS set where I've set:
downlink - 99000
uplink - 99000

Have 2 entries in MAC Priority and have restricted speeds on these 2 devices with "Manual" Priority.

Is there some setting that I need to modify to get my speed to where it should be?

Thanks,

Disabled QoS.

Still download speed at only about 55-60Mbps but upload speed at around 70Mbps.

So even without QoS, there seems to be appreciable speed loss.

When I had 25/25 plan, there was really no speed loss. I had set up download and upload link to 23/23 and got around that.

look at top command from telnet or ssh when speedtest is going, look as sirq in the top right especially.

going to assume theres no saturation issues from the isp going on.

Thanks but think I need some instructions on how to do that once I telnet into my router.

Any links or instructions that you can point me to?

Thanks again

Also, any reason why my upload speeds are much much better than download speeds, they're about 15-20% better

Just checked the specs of this router. Shows to be a 300Mbps router and hence I think it should be able to handle 100/100 speed.

Perhaps something to do with dd-wrt and/or QoS. Because disabling QoS only improved from 50s to 60s download speed but nowhere close to 100

300mbps over wifi, for LAN it is 100mbps, and that is combined up and down, if testing up/dn speeds together you would only get half that each way (or one would take priority over the other)

And the 300mbps over wifi is going to depend on what settings you have set in DD-WRT wifi settings, and which devices you are connecting to, otherwise it could be 150mbps

something else is slowing it (when qos is off, with it on though its back to the cpu being too slow)

does the isp modem have any indication leds to show if the connected device is at 100mbps or 1000mbps ethernet?

I have fios ethernet, no modem, connects directly to router.

I connected my laptop to the port where fios comes in and speed test showed 100/100. Hence I'm sure that it is something on the router that is causing this loss and even disabling QoS didn't improve much.

thanks

Should I run "load" via telnet with QoS disabled? Haven't done that yet.
