I am using this build: r33986, on a RT-AC88U.
These are my steps:
- Firmware update (r33986)
- wait until it's finished, login to the webgui and set username/password.
- via telnet: erase nvram, reboot
- At this moment DHCP supplies IP addresses to cabled and wifi connections
- At this moment I took a "snapshot" of nvram show. (DHCP Working)
- Now I set the VLAN the way I want it. Save it and Reboot the router.
- Now the DHCP only supplies IP addresses to wifi connections and NOT cabled anymore.
- If I put the VLAN GUI page back to it's original settings (by hand, and using the GUI), and save and reboot. The problem persists.
- At this moment I took a "snapshot" of nvram show and compared it. (DHCP Not working)
The nvram show contents are different on these settings:
I've read it, but it's not my problem on how to get VLANs working. I have this same setup working on a RT-AC68U. And on that build the DHCP Server keeps working on cabled connections. I have to use a newer build, because RT-AC88U is only supported in the newer builds, but those newer builds seem to break the DHCP server for cabled connections.
Anyway, it must be a bug when I set it back to defaults using the GUI and never get a cabled DHCP server back.
vlan.*ports are unchanged between working and not working.
vlan.*hwname are unchanged between working and not working.
port0vlans, port1vlans, port2vlans, port3vlans are all 2 when working, but are 2 18 19 21 when not working.
the 'vlans' option itself is 0 when working and 1 when not working.
