WZR-HP-AG300H with Buffalo installed build 19154
have seen this in the past but usually it goes away after a power cycle. not this time.
using Android phone, connect to ath0 (2.4 Ghz), shows "Connected, no internet" and a little 'x' by the signal strength. connecting to ath1 (5 Ghz) it seems to be fine.
weird thing is this also happens on a wifi extender. using dodocool ac750 that is hard wired to the router. connecting to the 2.4 Ghz access point shows "Connected, no internet". connecting to 5 Ghz access point seems to work fine.
have tried changing Wireless Network Mode with no effect.
could it be interference? maybe try setting the Wireless Channel.
has anyone seen anything like this before?
any idea what to try?
has the router finally gone haywire?

Update to a newer build. I would suggest something released this year at least. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

FYI - it appears that the problem only affects Android phones. was able to connect two Nest thermostats and PC with USB wifi adapter. tried two difference phones - Pixel and S7 - both connected but said no internet.

Problem appears to be with some setting that is affecting Android phones. Can connect two Nest Thermostats and PC using USB wifi adapter. But two different phones and models say no internet. And this occurs when connecting to router WiFi and hard wired extender WiFi.
Have tried to update firmware a couple of times. But build 19154 makes that difficult. Current instructions seem much easier than before. Will try again since I am already planning factory reset to see if that helps.

Went to 2017 FTP folder for my router. There are two files. The wiki seems to imply flashing "buffalo_to_ddwrt_webflash-MULTI.bin". Is this correct? What is the other file?

Usually one is for factory-to-ddwrt, the other is for upgrading dd-wrt (webflash, webupgrade, etc). Some routers have slightly different headers on the firmware (stock), so they have different files (IL - Israel, US - United States, TW - Taiwan, etc). _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware?
