This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 29440_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

So I know there are issues with the KRACK vulnerability in router mode for Netgear broadcom devices, but if my understanding is correct, devices running as client ARE patched because they use the new wpa_supplicant, as for the routers, do we know if/when we will see a patch, or will they never see one?

Which image to flash on a standard R7000?

dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD.bin or
dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD_128K.bin

I need a 100% stable and reliable OpenVPN-Client running on the router. (Able to auto-reconnect on connection loss etc.) Can you tell me from your experience how the kong-ddwrt is doing here?

Thanks

R7000 uses STD see: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-AC-Arm/Supported%20Models

I use OpenVPN on PIA which is working well, I do not have any losses so I can not comment on autoreconnect

Hello

Router: Asus RT-AC3200
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r33675M kongac (11/03/17)
Kernel: Linux 4.4.95 #472 SMP Fri Nov 3 23:27:37 CET 2017 armv7l
Status: working
Reset: NO
Errors: NO

Based on the previous releases this one looks good.
The WI-fi 2.4ghz w/ wap2 is working much better.
I will now jump into advanced config`s like VPN and freeradius to know if they also are working.

Nice Job Kong!

Router Model: Netgear R6400

Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r33675M kongac (11/03/17)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.95 #472 SMP Fri Nov 3 23:27:37 CET 2017 armv7l

Upgraded: from DD-WRT v3.0-r33655M kongac (11/03/17)via ddup --flash-latest
Reset: No not this time

Status: Up and running for 4 hours, basic setup as AP, static leases, OpenVPN client ( on PIA) up and running, 2,4GHz, 5Ghz USB storage and DLNA working.
I have shuffled more than 40 GB through WIFI during 4 hours and everything is working and stable, no apparent disconnect. All wired and wireless clients can see each other. (In previous builds I had no problems either maybe because wireless were plain old intel NIC's?)

Errors: Yes, OpenVPN with Policy Based Routing does not forward HTTP(s) traffic to the PBR clients with SFE on see: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5900.
The GUI sometimes does not respond and I have to manually refresh this was also the case in previous builds.

There is a solution, to the PBR not working with SFE, @Quarkysg has made a patch for the shortcut-fe module (see: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/5986#no1 )
He also compiled a shortcut-fe.ko module for testing (Arm/Broadcom , Linux 4.4) see: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=1101149#1101149 , I am running that shortcut-fe.ko module right now and it appears to work.

Feel free to PM me for instructions how to load.

Big Thanks to Kong and BrainSlayer!!

OK, I'll give them a shot. I need a stable working router
(in fact there are around 15 R7000 devices for branch offices) with working openvpn(client) and Wifi (WPA2-ENT Radius EAP-TLS Auth)
I'll flash one device and jump the testing-train.

seems much better than the previous build where various devices had disconnects at times as well as DNS seemed to die over time or delay responses ..

Router: R7000
Firmware: from 33655 Kong to 33675 Kong
Kernel: 4.4.95
Status: Not right

Something definitely seems wrong since 33525.

Privoxy is acting very strange, it's not snappy, it randomly slows down on requests. Some times it takes forever to load a page, but an F5 makes it load instantly. Another example, on pages with thumbnails grid, some thumbnails won't load, if you refresh different thumbnails won't load, even if they loaded fine on first try.

Also, after a random time some services hang and don't respond anymore, not all at once, only one service randomly stops and then I have to ssh in and stopservice/startservice. It happened with privoxy, dnsmasq, samba3 and ssh.

Today, after 12h uptime, router seemed to hang on several services at once, GUI was still responding, but other services including ssh and pppoe stopped. I run ps command though GUI and noticed those processes were missing.

What is strange that after reboot, router seems good, but after few hours those symptoms appears. Also, I checked memory consumption and there's plenty of free ram.

Wireless seems more stable. I have yet to have the cameras go down and lose connectivity.

There is still an issue at hand, where one of the cameras drops connectivity after being viewed live for 5 minutes or more. The camera stream just dies.

Wifi errors still exist, but I dont think they are of interest.

RDP connection is better, and it seems to maintain the connection, but performance wise, RDP was better on the October build.

--latest was used, no reset performed
