Downgrade or upgrade makes no difference. Just upload the 'webflash' file via dd-wrt GUI.
If you’re having trouble - try a reset before downgrading / upgrading.

I am currently using version DD-WRT v3.0-r31899 std (04/24/17) - This is copied from the information window.

This build is perfectly stable on my router that is Linksys WRT 1900AC version 1.0. But the kernel is outdated and EOL and for that reason has security issues.

Ok because that is what I tried and it just rebooted back to the same version (latest build I flashed)

Have you tried switching partitions and flashing from there?

Firmware links are broken, and this firmware is the beta's file directory.
Can you please fix the links?
Thank you

Maybe I'm missing something but I can't find any download link in the thread you referenced...
The only links that I saw are the beta's directory I already searched and wasn't there, and other references and tutorials...
Did I miss anything?

Here is Kong's Return to Stock Firmware file.

Upload via DD-WRT GUI Administration Tab - Firmware Upgrade Sub Tab.

This is for the WRT1900AC v1 ONLY!

*After successfull flash you will need to Update Linksys Firmware.
This can be done in the Linksys Firmware Administration Section.

Why was 31924 build removed from FTP? I see previous and newer builds, but not this build.
Were there any issue with this build?

It caused a major issue on other routers. (Broadcom I think?)

How do you know if you have a WR1900AC v1?
Is it from the upper right of the DDWRT web gui?

Look,at the router from the top? See a fan? It's a v1. No fan? It's not a v1. Or look at the bottom label.
