The OP asked to collect a number of data points in the first post including "Reset". I am not clear on what this means
- Firmware upgrade "after Flashing reset to"?
- Reset Button on the box works\does not work
- Factory Defaults (probably not) _________________ Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH - Primary Router

updated tplink 841 v9 running as switch/access point, followed by the second 841 v9 that is the edge router to cable modem. No issues, wifi connected fine after enabling the krack blocker.
Yes it shows as undefined, for about 5 mins after flashing, and updates in the website automatically - just refresh your browser after waiting a while.
Speedy interface. Haven't tested torrent max speed yet but I learned in the last week to disable DHT in utorrent to save your router from running out of its 4096 sessions. That's just a side note unrelated to this build I thought I'd share.

It is a matter of timing.
My post on getting old wrt54g up to 55 megabits routing speed (despite harsh testing conditions), is all about timing. http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=310899&highlight=
Post#1 edited eleven times because perfect is not to be had, but excellent is much more fun.
It is barely relevant to this thread; but, if our modern Atheros hardware survives the decade, it will end up using triage scripting, just like that post.
Do you need every one of those 4096 connections persisting for half an hour; or, would five minutes or even 48 seconds do?
Edit: The faster the connection, the lower those timeouts ought to be. It is not yet automated--dial it lower manually. I had meant to bring this up before now.

TP-Link TL-WR841ND v9 Checking in.
Usage is main router.
This works perfectly.
After a week of patching, usually involving much effort to earn disappointment, this one device did much different! It went faster and worked better after the patching. Awesome!

I have tried several 30**** builds but still when setting up OPENVPN it does not connect to server so I have to revert back to build 27147 which works a treat.
Any help would be appreciated.
BTW. I really do appreciate the work you guys put in to try and resolve any problems with builds to the huge array of router models.
Router Model: TP-Link TL-WR2543
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r33555 std (10/20/17)
Web upgrade: O.K.
Reset: No.
Status: O.K.
Used as a Wifi Repeater and finally the devices are connected correctly.
The last compilation in which Wifi worked was version v3.0-r31277 std (02/07/17).
The LAN connection works well.
As much as I like dd-wrt, I'm currently giving a chance to LEDE and I'm pretty happy with it. I suggest you to give it a try. For QoS search in packages for: qos and sqm
There are some small things I'm missing from dd-wrt and bandwidth limiting per IP/MAC is probably the biggest one. I didn't do my research yet so it maybe there somewhere, in a package, waiting for installation
The thing you'll probably love the most are stability and packages - no more need to upgrade whole firmware to unstable, untested one. Just upgrade a single package. Same thing with features you need or not - simply install them or remove... And it seems to be very fast, including boot time.
I really wish DD-WRT would be more like that, so I wouldn't have to test other firmwares... _________________ Atheros: TL-WR1043ND-v2 @ r33492 std

Thought, LEDE is nothing but openWRT(breakaway group) anything better in LEDE?
I dont see support to many new routers either, such as R9000 or R8500 etc. _________________ ASUS GT-BE98 PRO Main: Fiber 5gbps up/down

Since I decided to go with dd-wrt, I have never used openwrt which seems dead(?) since 2016.
My router with dd-wrt was crashing lately when there was no internets for more than couple of minutes (ISP has some issues) and reboot was needed.
LEDE didn't crash during last internet failure and that's a good start for me.
I don't really know it yet - better ask uncle Google
There are a few things which are just awesome and I wish we had them in dd-wrt... _________________ Atheros: TL-WR1043ND-v2 @ r33492 std

Kernel: Linux 4.9.57 #82 SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 19 01:15:09 CEST 2017 armv7l

Errors: None so far.
4+days on R9000. SFE enabled, QOS enabled, no reboot issues.
AD chip MAC address reports correctly again now, instead all zeros in the last few builds.
Sold build. Thanks! BS. _________________ ASUS GT-BE98 PRO Main: Fiber 5gbps up/down
