Thanks for the reply, Bill.
Seller now seems a bit hesitant to ship the unit interstate, so I will see if I can get it.
So far, 24 hours on r35531 without issues.
I tried downloading a big file on my laptop and running Speedtest on my mobile last night to see if I could get wifi to drop out.
It didn't after 3 attempts.
r34760 would drop out every time, so a definite improvement.

I've been trialing some of the newer builds on my WRT1900ACv1 to see if they're rebooting:
r34760 - Reboot1 - 96.5 hrs
Reboot2 - 79.5 hrs
r35244 - Reboot1 - 55 hrs
Reboot2 - 120+ hrs (local power failure)
r35452 - Reboot1 - 55 hrs
Reboot2 - 84 hrs
Reboot3 - 8 hrs
r35531 - currently at 7.5 hrs
Also been getting wifi dropouts when downloading on laptop (5GHz) and doing a speedtest on mobile (also 5GHz) - no dropouts if not at same time.
I've been offered a lightly used WRT3200ACM for under $100; can't decide if I should spring for it.

If you can get a lightly used 3200ACM for under $100
you should jump, as it is a great router.

Now if you have to have a Stable wireless network you should maybe look for something else.

I have read some good stuff about the Linksys EA8500 and just bought one myself today, but you have to get
a USB to TTL cable and open the unit to flash it.

But from what I have read it has a fantastic wifi radio in it.

The good thing is you can get them for $100 or less on ebay.

Here is the Link : http://mrjcd.com/EA8500_DD-WRT/#newbuild

I only found out about the EA 8500 from a link that ( 05dyna ) had posted in another thread so Kudos to him!!

Good luck which ever way you go.
Mark

Hi Mark,
yes I'll try to get the WRT3200ACM, but seller is holding out for a local cash buyer, rather than having to get Paypal and post it (note that I'm in Australia).
The alternative to the WRT here in Oz is an Asus RT-AC68U running Asus-Merlin (an Asus specific Tomato derivative).
Very popular here - Linksys has virtually no market presence here these days.
PS: here is a guy selling an EA6900 with Merlin:
https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/sunnybank/modems-routers/linksys-ea6900-custom-merlin-firmware-256mb-ram-dual-wan-vpn-tor/1177316996
Not strictly legal, only Asus can run Merlin.

Well good luck on getting the 3200acm, but if you can't
I have also heard good things about the AC68U from ( LookingForMyMojo ) one of the Guru's here in the forum.

Just not sure they are at the same price point.

Good Luck
Mark

Actually LookingForMyMojo is using a Asus AC86U. Last I knew running RMerlin firmware.

I notified Brainslayer of the CPU Idle feature being disabled on OpenWRT / LEDE builds that seems to have solved the reboot issue.
He already fixed it!

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/36168

The next DD-WRT build release should run without any issues on the WRT1900AC v1 as it does with OpenWRT / LEDE.

Thank you, Brainslayer!

I will upgrade my WRT1900ACv1 firmware because of random reboots. Currently I use 36104, I saw 36154 is out but maybe I should wait for 36168?

I would wait. He's pushing a new build for the WRT32X tomorrow so the others may be included.

Thank you very much I will wait for next release. I have another question. Is there any way to grab all settings of DDWRT like a macro. I mean I know there is a backup and restore feature but I do not use it for upgrades and downgrades. I record a video for all settings pages and I set one by one. I am looking for a solution for this. Like a macro thing. Is there anybody know?

This is FANTASTIC. Can't wait to try it.

David seems to also be working with kernel v4.14. Have you heard anything about BS moving to this version?

Thanks much to you, DavidC, and BS for your parts in finding a solution to this issue

Not that I am aware of. I know there are several scripts for OpenWRT that can be used to automatically configure all your settings. I would imagine it could be modified for DD-WRT, but that's beyond my skill.

https://github.com/richb-hanover/OpenWrtScripts/blob/master/config-openwrt.sh

I just take a screenshot of each page if I change something.

@Psa01 I think Brainslayer will continue to use the 4.9 Kernel for the time being. I'm sure he'll move to the 4.14 at some point. The 4.9 Kernel's projected EOL (End of Life) is less than 7 months from now.
