All my devices will connect when the WiFi has no security set-up, but my phones will disconnect constantly and say authentication failed. When the security is enabled my printer and Roku will not connect at all, and the phones will still disconnect constantly. I've tried to use every different type of security and nothing has worked. This is my first time using this forum or dd-wrt.

Two questions.
1. What release of dd-wrt did you install? Bet it is the old one from the web site. Here is where to find the latest.

you may be out of luck.
I find the 5ghz unusable, I have been struggling with connectivity issues of various kinds, since the release of the WRT1900ACv1.
I have decided to toss the WRT series, tired of waiting for Linksys/Belkin/Marvell to come through.

I do not have the 5GHz issues others do for some reason, so YMMV.
