Sorry totally clueless when it comes to these. I bought an Asus DSL Ac68u to replace my other router after a few days of head scratching I finally got that up and running. Then later found out it's no good for my VPN so I bought a second RC-AC68u. Now am totally clueless, the only firmware I can install on it DD-WRT if i try a different one it just stays in the bootloop and never comes on even with the original Asus firmware. Anyway, the problem that am having is it keeps saying no internet access. I have it setup running off my dsl router and did in fact at one point have the internet working on it till I tried to set up the VPN. I just want to get it set up as a second router and to just use for the VPN setup
sorry forgot the DSL router is running an Asus original firmware |

Are you trying to have both routers working at the same time?
You must at least make sure that the two routers are not using the same subnet IP/netmask in Setup->Basic Setup->Router IP->Network Setup. When both of them are using 192.168.1.1, there would be duplicate IP address for the same machine. You also need to change DHCP server settings.
Next, you need to bridge the 2nd router to the first. If the WAN cable was connected to the first router, the 2nd router should be configured as a wireless repeater if not a bridge. Well... I am not familiar with this.
Anyway, read these:
