Router Model: Linksys WRT-160NL
Status: Bricked
Reset: YES/NO - doesn't matter
Errors: Power LED blinking continuously and no IP is assigned to the PC. The reset button has no effect. Same as on the last versions.

Ticket: #5959
PS: Not all WRT-160NL units have the same problem...

Just an FYI, I have 2 routers that will be getting this upgrade this week.
Buffalo WZR-600DHP. I am planning on doing a full factory reset on this as I am giving it to my brother in law to get him back and going on WiFi after the Harvey floods.
TrendNet TEW-82dru.
I am planning on trying to keep my configuration for this one as I don't want ot have to reset my network...
Router Model: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND v2
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r33375 std (09/19/17)
Status: OK
Reset: NO
Errors: Dropped connection after 3 days requiring manual restart. Unable to up or downgrade firmware. Bricked when trying to install stripped firmware. Tftp back to stock helped.
used that method to successfully upgrade two of my D-Link DIR-615 E3s which were also failing to upgrade via web-gui.
fyi; WAN does not need to be enabled - mine is disabled and assigned to the switch.
in any case, enable telnet: webgui -> services -> services -> Telnet: Enable -> Save -> Apply
@Jamar666
Hello, actually it was already enabled under that section. But many thanks to you, it made me look closer again, and I discovered something!
If you setup a DDWRT device as access point, then you MUST specify gateway/dns IP settings under the setup tab>network setup. In my case those values were missing. As soon as I populated gateway/dns, telnet was able to download via wget. Previously nothing happened via telnet wget.
Status: bad
Reset: no
Errors: everything works fine except for openvpn server is not starting. when I get back home I'll try the newer firmware out to see if that resuscitates it.
----
edit: my certs were too insecure--many years old re-generated certs worked fine on this build

What build did you have previously?
ovpn server works fine on EA8500 w/r33375 and also on r33413.
If you came from r33006 or earlier build it is possible you are using keys that are no longer compatible with newer openssl.
Keys must be made using RSA security.
The older md5 security is no longer valid.
Also if you was using AES-512-CBC in server config it is also no longer good w/ new openssl

great point. I think my old certs were probably too insecure--1024 bit? in any case, I regenerated with more up to date inputs and it worked fine in this build as well as the newer build. I didn't get a chance to post yet on the other thread, but I'll do that now to say it works well
