Hi folks,

I have an ISP specific router to connect to the internet. Behind it, I have a WLAN router with dd-wrt.
The ISP's router's IP is set to 192.168.1.1.

dd-wrt is setup with
- WAN connection "disabled"
- router-IP (Local IP Address) "192.168.1.2"
- gateway and local dns "192.168.1.1"
- dhcp type "dhcp server"

For the PCs on the network, standard gateway is set to dd-wrt, i.e. 192.168.1.2

This works great and has the advantage that I can access the router on 192.168.1.1 directly.

However, I cannot get ddns to work. The
problem might be that dd-wrt doesn't know the WAN IP. Is there a way to get this to work, e.g. by using a service like myip which checks my IP "externally"?

I have accounts on dnsomatic and freedns.afraid.org.

Thanks for any good hint on a solution!
