Yes, the 841nd v12 is supported. Here is a link to the beta folder for 31899, not the newest build: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2017/04-24-2017-r31899/tplink_tl-wr841ndv12/

The 2 newer builds have GUI crashes and other major bugs.

Use the Factory-to-ddwrt (Factory-to-ddwrt-US if it is a US model) build to go to dd-wrt. Then use the webflash to update to newer builds as they are released. Keep an eye on the build threads, such as this one for 32597, http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=310061.

Also, take a peek at the svn timeline here, major bugs will be shown here: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/timeline

Versions 9 thru 12 have the same chip as well but major differences in other supporting hardware as verified by this link; https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr841nd so I`m not so sure it would work. However, should you decide to give it a try we would like to hear back. All the previous 841s are easy to recover if that's any consolation.

Did anybody try loading it via TFTP?

  1. Install TFTP32/TFTP64 on your computer.
  2. Download one of my test files.
  3. Create a folder tftp on the C:/ drive, or somewhere easy to navigate to.
  4. Set a Static IP, on the computer, of 192.168.0.66 (wired only)
  5. Start TFTP32/TFTP64, server mode, change the directory to C:/tftp, change the interface to 192.168.0.66
  6. Power on the router while holding the reset button.
  7. Check the TFTP32/TFTP64 log, it should say that the router tried to grab a file
  8. Rename the downloaded file to this name, place it in the C:/tftp folder.
  9. Power on the router while holding the reset button.
  10. This time the router will find the file, download it from the computer and flash it.
  11. Wait at least 5 min before rebooting the router manually.

Dear Sxxx ,
Thank you very much for your requesting information about our product.

Here are the answers to the questions you asked.

1.Flashing memory:64Mbit;
2.Ram:512 Mbit;
3.CPU:QCA9533-BL3A.

I hope that will help.

---------------------

This modem/router is very much similar to tl-wr841ND v11 but with older CPU and 8Mb Flash/64Mb Ram .
