This is what I've found so far. Is it possible to use the image for Revision A-D?

Actiontec MI424WR Rev F

CPU1: Cavium CN5020 (500 MHz, 2 cores)

No, the hardware for ver. F is so different from ver. A, C or D. Only ver. A, C and D are supported by dd-wrt.

So does that mean "will not" be supported, or simply "is not supported [at this time]"? What needs to happen to get an image with CPU/WiFi support? What's the DIY procedure, or where can I find it?

Most often the devs, Brainslayer, Kong and possibly someone else, need a donated router in order to develop a build specific to a new piece of hardware. Brainslayer lives in Germany, not sure where Kong is from, either way donating a router is not cheap. Don't expect them to send it back either.
