Yes the factory to ddwrt will install fine from the Linksys UI. I rename the file to .img rather then leaving it as .bin. Just my way of keeping things straight.

Just a fyi I always flash from the Linksys UI so that it is always available so. I do flash other firmware from time to time such as LEDE and Gargoyle so the Linksys UI is needed. Infact right now I am running davidc502's LEDE on my wrt3200.

Hi Myersw, you said to rename the extension from .bin to .img? I downloaded the file from spuriousoffspring. I am getting ready to do the 30/30/30 and upload 31924 factory-to-ddwrt.bin.

Thank you
NRHTX

DO NOT DO A 30/30/30! That was only for much older routers. You can brick your router that way.

Hi spuriousoffspring,

Thank you, what about renaming the extension, is this needed or can I just upload using the .bin as mentioned on this forum.

It's not necessary for uploading to your router. I think some people like to do that to ensure they don't upload the wrong file.

Just remember: 'factory to dd-wrt' is only for the Linksys GUI & the other 'webflash.bin' is for only the dd-wrt GUI.

Good Luck!

DDWRT team,

I installed 31924 and everything defaulted back with my original settings that I had with Kong's firmware. Now my router is working perfectly with firmware 31924, I am not complaining about this, what I would like to know, why is the router defaulting back to Linksys software when I power the router down. Today I was rearranging my power cables with my battery surge protector and I noticed that the router went back to Linksys software firmware version 1.1.8. I was about to flash again and came across this website goo.gl/CpVwA1 how to power the router down 3 times to get it back to DD-DRT. I gave it a try and I was able to go back to DD-WRT with firmware 31924.

Why is the router defaulting back to Linksys when the router is unplug or powered down?

P.S I noticed that the router went back to Linksys when I tried using Android App dd wrt companion and it wouldn't connect.

Best Regards

NRHTX

Here is the image showing that I am now on DDWRT firmware 31914

помогите сделать откат на стандартную прошивку wrt1900ac v1.
Пробовала делать откат через скачанную прошивку с dd-wrt, роутер долго что-то делал, страница не обновлялась.

Translation:

Help me roll back to the standard firmware WRT1900AC v1.
Tried to roll back through a downloaded firmware with DD-WRT, the router was doing something, and the page was not updated.

Do you mean you wish to return to Linksys Factory Firmware? If so I have a copy of Kong's 'dd-wrt to factory' for the WRT1900AC v1

I will attach to next post.

As promised, here is Kong's 'dd-wrt to factory' for Linksys WRT1900AC_v1 only!

Also, while the newer builds do not work well on the version 1, they will allow you to return to Linksys Factory Firmware from the DD-WRT GUI.
All you would need is the Factory Firmware from Linksys Support Website:

https://www.linksys.com/us/support-product?pid=01t80000003KdJ7AAK

*Just make sure to choose the correct Hardware Version

You are welcome! Glad it worked.

Make sure to upgrade Linksys Firmware after reverting back.
Use the Linksys Support link above.

The wrt1900ac v1 suffers from issues with the Linux 4.9.x kernel and can currently only run the 4.4 kernel.

Link with more info and the latest dd-wrt firmware that can be used, r31924.

For some reason this version was pulled from the download site by Brainslayer, but could have been due to issues with a different make/model router. His firmware posts are a all or nothing kinda thing.

Also read the thread in my sig if you have not already. This router has 2 separate partitions so you need to understand what that means and how to switch between them.
