I have just flashed my WNDR4500 v2 with the latest dd-wrt Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r30949 giga (12/15/16)
The router is working Ok but I can't get the Commands to respond!
I tried entering openvpn --Version
Result nothing!
I tried Help still nothing!
I am trying to set up Openvpn client and have copied and pasted the three certificates but looking in 'Status' OpenVPN nothing is shown.
The VPN server is on my TP-Link VR2800 (Original TP-link firmware which has OpenVPN on it!) It all works OK using my iPhone or Macbook Pro, but I do need a router with the client on it for use with cameras etc.
One last thing, I don't see anywhere I can turn the Wireless off in the configuration.Maybe I am missing something? Cancelling Wifi using the button on the side only works until the router is re-powered then Wifi is back on!
Thanks.
Ian
Hi Guys, Many thanks for the replies.
I was looking for a radio button to click or a slide not ad a drop down! I'm learning the DD-WRT layout slowly!
Both 2.4 and 5Ghz are now off but the 5Ghz led is still on!
So I'll flash the latest version shortly to see if that is cured.
The 'Commands' do now respond but the GUI plays up, something the latest firmware might fix?
I still can't get the OpenVPN client to work and show anything in the Status OpenVPN boxes!
Maybe the latest firmware version will cure this ill!
As it is a pouter I've had 'on the shelf' for sometime, I don't recall that it was so sloooow in booting up!
My TP-Links are like lightening compared to the Netgear.
Would the collective advise the TP-Link TL-WR841N as a better bet as an OpenVPN client router or is the Netgear OK? Wireless is not important by the way as it will be OFF!
Thanks for all the advice.
Ian
