This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 31924_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless.
If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

still does not take on rt-ac88u. It shows old build number in top right corner of web ui.
RT-AC3100, same problem. Last working build was 03-21-2017-r31722.
Do we know what commit broke it?
It's a size problem. The installer is reporting that the linux partition has been exceeded. r31722 works because its 29.7 MB. Most of the firmwares in 2017 for the RT-AC88U have exceed 30 MB which causes the oversize partition error. The r31924 is 30.4 MB so it will not work.
Did a fresh install on another Netgear R8000 yesterday and found two problems.
1. Was unable to break out of the Netgear firmware with build R31923 - incompatible firmware type error. Used current Kong build to break out, which went without error, so looks like the factory-to-dd-wrt.chk is currently bad for this model.
2. Re-installed BS main build over above image and successfully configured up to replace functionality on old router - multiple VLANs, extra bridge for guest wireless, iptables scripts, guest wireless virtual interfaces, QoS, OpenVPN, USB JFFS etc. Internet connection is PPPoE service, system worked perfectly, however when I take the number of ports connected to VLAN 1 from 2 down to 1, the Internet connectivity then fails on the resart. interface ppp0 is no longer present if you do an ifconfig, hence no Internet connection. Adding any other LAN port back to VLAN 1 resolves issue.
The problem can be re-created with any of the LAN ports. Any 2 or more ports = works fine. Only one port in VLAN 1 and ppp0 fails to appear. At all times VLAN 5 and 8 only have one port assigned and that did not seem to affect anything, so VLAN 1 port count is the thing that breaks this.
Swapped to current Kong build (R31870), made no changes to configuration and it works fine. I note that it take a short period for the ppp0 interface to appear in ifconfig list, but it all comes up OK.

I had a kong build from January but wanted to update just to be on top of things, so installed this build over the kong build and it's working just fine. It rebooted automagically and nothing has gone wrong.
