Looks like Cybernook's Lede project will slow down since he don't own the WRT1900 anymore. David's Lede is based on beta build which I prefer Stable build.

So I am planning to move to either Gargoyle or DDWRT, my understanding Kong is no longer developing builds for WRT1900, it will be either this DDWRT build by BS or Gargoyle.

Anyone has used both care to comment which one is more stable. TIA

By the way, Mine is a WRT1900AC V2

I recently got a wrt3200acm. Before that I had a wrt1900acs v1, very similar to the ac v2 you have. Both DDWRT and Gargoyle ran well on them. I would suggest, based on my experience with the latest Brainslayer build on my wrt3200acm that maybe start with the 3/30/2017 build as the newest has the latest beta wireless drivers that are no at all solid on my wrt. Gargoyle runs really well for me. Link to good Gargoyle;

I don't see any Gargoyle release for the WRT routers. Which firmware are you actually using?

I seem to have a stable wireless connection using mixed mode on ath2 (SD8887); ath0/ath1 (88W8964), both mixed mode, exhibit either dropped connections almost immediately after connection and/or POR -- I've seen both, but POR in particular with ath1 enabled in mixed mode.

When forcing mode to anything other than mixed on ath2 things seem to destabilize and dropped connections occur.

PS4 via 2.4GHz or 5GHz? My PS4 (slim) will only connect to my 1900ACv1 (not ACS) via 2.4GHz. Latest I tried is BS31722.

That doesn't have to do with router or firmware. The Playstation 4 doesn't have 5Ghz. Not sure about the newer 4K PS4 as I don't have one.
If you're having problems with yours at 2.4Ghz speed the only two options I know of are to connect it directly via ethernet or if you can't due to placement you can directly connect it via an access point.

Hope this helps!

Same here - I managed to get out of it by doing a reset (hold for 20 seconds) then after setting the password going directly to update the firmware to the last one in May.

I tried the lastest dd-wrt firmware for my WRT3200ACM router and had a kernel crash on r31899 due to mwlwifi, with doing a 30/30/30 before and after the router does not malfunction until a device connects to the WiFi and then the device reboots.

Currently running on a WRT1200ac V2.

After several hours, perfect on 2.4 & 5 mhz.

Thanks,

Crash on my device. 100% repro.

Once a device tries to connect to 5GHz, my device with this build will reboot.

Forgot to say, mine is 3200ACM.

5GHz settings: 160MHz, channel auto, AC only
