Also, make sure your router has the correct time. (See beginning of this post for a list of time servers)
I believe one or more of your log errors could be because the VPN Server and your router's times don't match.

The speed has gone very slow.. Front end router directly connected to the Internet is getting 10mb and netgear with openvpn is getting 4mb max. Is this the normal difference of speeds?

In SERVICES - VPN - Open VPN Client what do have listed as you server?

It sounds to me like your VPN is working and you're currently using one of ipVanish's servers located in the USA. Not the time server, but the VPN Server.
This would explain the speed loss as well.

In the VPN screenshot in my first post in this topic I have mine set to: atl.a39.ipvanish.com which is a server in Atlanta, Georgia USA.

Try this server: beg-c01.ipvanish.com

You can find the full server list on ipVanish.com under 'My Account'. Log in and then click 'Server List'. It's about 29 pages long.

The closer a server is to you geographicly, the better your speeds will be.
The amount of speed you retain through an OpenVPN Tunnel is primarily dependant on the processing power of your router.
My Linksys WRT1900AC doesn't have the power to go more than about 30 Mbps (150 Mbps without VPN), however, a Netgear x10 r9000 can go at just about full speed.

I once used OpenVPN but wasn't satisfied with that may be some technical issues behind it. Now I am using the Best VPN Service in my town its great working for me and I m truly satisfied with that.

Figured I should update this seeing as there has been some changes.

EDIT: 2017 October 5
ipVanish DD-WRT v3 Setup Updated URL:
https://support.ipvanish.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002080733-DD-WRT-v3-Router-Setup

First: I have switched to Level3 DNS Servers. I found that they work a bit faster with my location and preferred ipVanish Servers.

Level3 DNS:
209.244.0.3
209.244.0.4

A list of DNS Servers here:

https://www.lifewire.com/free-and-public-dns-servers-2626062

Second: After testing ping times & number of jumps, I found that instead of a specific NTP Time Server - it was much quicker to use pool.ntp.org. This automatically locates & uses your closest NTP Server.

Third: You no longer need to substitute the @ for an _ in your ipVanish email / user name.

Forth: I unchecked 'NS Cert Type Verification' and put it's replacement in the 'Additional Config.' box:
remote-cert-tls server

*If your OpenVPN does not auto-reconnect after reboot then try putting in the other commands listed in ipVanish's updated dd-wrt v3 instructions. With the current build I am on - 31924 - I don't need these, but newer builds may:
persist-key
persist-tun
persist-remote-ip
keysize 256 *I still haven't seen a difference with or without this one.

ipVanish dd-wrt v3 Setup Instructions:

https://support.ipvanish.com/customer/portal/articles/2762802

A very useful site that has a full list of Advanced Configuration & OpenVPN Commands as well as a brief description of each one here:

https://www.sparklabs.com/support/kb/article/advanced-configuration-commands/#advanced-openvpn-commands

I still get twice the speed with TCP on port 443 so that remains unchanged.

Also, ipVanish has added several new Servers to the mix. I have a pdf copy of all 37 pages which I will attach so anyone can have an offline copy.

What you basically want? Choose a best VPN? If you are choosing a VPN you have to know there review first.Nowadays, we can easily get VPN service from several VPN service providers. But it does really matter to get good VPN service. I think I was like enough because I am using best one. It wasn’t easy either to get that one. I had visited lots of websites and read as much as reviews I can then I got the best VPN for myself. Now I use IPVANISH from past two years. The best things about the VPN are it provides more than 40 countries server to use including USA, Australia, UK, and Germany and it has Unlimited Bandwidth, Unlimited Server Switching, Zero Traffic Logs, 5 Simultaneous Connections on Multiple Devices as well. I can select country as usual while I use it besides I can also use select city and best server from it. Without any bother, I can play any games, watch any videos. Therefore, my advice would be for everyone before using a best VPN please get some knowledge to read reviews and then make your decision. https://itday.com/vpn/best-vpn-unblock-minecraft-school/

I have a virtual wifi network (VAP) setup that is only and always connected to the VPN. Basically I have 3 wifi networks, my 2.4, 5ghz, and my 3rd 5ghz VAP. So 2.4 and 5 are normal (not through vpn) and the VAP is.

I also have that VAP using the IPVanish DNS, 198.18.0.1. It connects just fine.
