(It seems the typing is losing lines so once again an update)

Hello,

I have two Buffalo routers, the WLI-D4-D1300 and WZR-1750DHP. I did flash the mentioned fw in 1750 with no problems and it works like a charm, no problems sofar, and use 3G dongle in it, tried 2 4G sticks but they did not work properly.

Anyway, I had configured the D1300 as a bridge and it had release 300** from 2016, and since I had by mistake configured it as mentioned, I had to use serial to log into it and clear the nvram.

After clearing the nvram I connected the D1300 with cable on my network router, and made needed changes to connect to the internet and log in with telnet.

In telnet I gave commands:

> ce /tmp
>wget http://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2017/02-27-2017-r31533/buffalo_wli-d1300/WLI-H4-D1300_MULTI.bin
> mtd -r write WLI-H4-D1300_MULTI.bin linux

after reboot I cound see on serial that the fw is broken.

Then I rebooted the D1300 and by control-C got into CFE

On CFE I gave command:

CFE> ifconfig -addr=192.168.10.100 -gw=192.168.10.1 -mask=255.255.255.0 eth0

I configured tftp server on my laptop in 192.168.10.30 and downloaded from the same directory as above the .trx file and renamed it as flash1.trx in the tftp server.

I did ping my network router 192.168.10.1 and got message that it is alive, there was ethernet cable between the D1300 and the network router. The mentioned laptop was connected with wireless to the network router (1750 btw).

Then I gave the following commands on CFE:

CFE> flash -noheader -offset=262144 192.168.10.30:flash1.trx flash0

It went fine, and then command reboot, but still broken fw.

Then after reboot the same thing without the -offset and it went also fine, but the command reboot did stuck and after power on-off-on the router is completely dead. No lights nor anything on the serial.

What did I do wrong here? Is there any hope with JTAG or anything to get the router back alive?

sorry I can not help with your issue on the WLI, however curious to know
if you have the same issue with WZR-1750DHP re 4G modem on Broadcom as I had.
Using the build version in my sig. for EA6900 I got the 4G modem to work, and it works reliably. (r28139 std)
You might give it try.
