please I am another more possessor and interested in being able to install the firm in a TL-WR941HP V1 it would be that it could have that firmware. let's get interested and collaborate with donations
I had forgotten before I put this reply to your other post (quoted below):

I'm pretty sure one would have to do a little bit of hexedit magic to make it work. I don't see too many specs that are different otherwise without further digging.
So, I presume that to get a more recent build one would have to hex edit the upgrade file since I don't think ian5142 is just going to keep posting files for people to test? I don't know. As I've previously stated, a device has to be donated or the homework needs to be done and sent to BrainSlayer. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Just wanted to ask If there have been some advances with this router. I have a v1 and it is very buggy, I'd like to upgrade the fw.
I am from Argentina so it is quite difficult to donate my router, and it seems that the monetary donations are not working very good for this model.
I can help trying to flash the firmware, with some guidance, but I've never built a fw for this kind of devices.
I've tried the file @ian5142 has uploaded earlier in this thread without luck.
Just in case you are not aware, TP-LINK released the GPL code for this device so i guess this might help in the development of the DD-WRT version?.

This is not OpenWRT. Your previous post was redundant, if you had read through the whole thread,
you would've realized this as the GPL link was in the OP. Hardware donation or homework or be willing
to test a blind port. It's becoming a broken record played in the background.

hmm the safest way is, to go back to stock firmware and than, first flash with factory to ddwrt build...
if you can do a cable to LAN ports than you can try tftp...directly the factory DDWRT firmwars

Did you use the file from the first page of this thread? Were you on the oldest TP-Link stock firmware for this device when you tried flashing it? It could be that it requires the one in between oldest and newest stock firmware to flash. I would have to examine the files to see if there were any further things that need to be done for it to accept the file. It would be best to be in the same physical location in case things go awry.

I am not anywhere where I can investigate at the moment, but I have it on good word that the developer was contacted about adding official support.
UPDATE: The problem is the primary device it is identical to is the TL-WR940Nv3 and probably why it didn't work. I will get back to this tomorrow. _________________ An old man said, “Erasers are made for those who make mistakes.” A youth replied, “Erasers are made for those who are willing to correct their mistakes!” Attitude matters! ~ Anonymous

Never heard anything back from BrainSlayer on any official support; the only thing that was revealed was that this device is (primarily) identical to the TL-WR940Nv3. I would have to re-examine the files to see if any magic voodoo was required. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
