Yeah, i noticed that looking at the double exstension trickery!
But you think this would resolve by Failure to Boot "ANY CUSTOM" Image as seen in Print Screen?
Thanks for the reply.
How can I answer that?
I have never experienced any issues flashing from stock, other than the stock version (1.1.8.* IS required for my router). I have never had to resort to any method other than the GUI for flashing either.
Suggest you just give it a go.
If it still fails, then you may have a damaged partition that requires re-formatting. This has been discussed elsewhere on this forum, but I would be tempted to ask Chadster over on the official LinkSys forum. He is the guru on all technical matters LinkSys.
***** EDIT *****
Sorry, I've just noticed that you have a WRT1900ACS v1 rather than a WRT1900AC v1. My apologies, as everything I have written relates to the WRT1900AC v1.
DO NOT attempt to flash from that link I posted earlier!!!

I have a wrt1900acs v1 and have never had a problem flashing DD-WRT, Openwrt, LEDE, or Gargoyle. Make sure you are grabbing the correct file. If doing Brainslayer's build he has a link with the router model, wrt1900acs in this case, and then the factory to ddwrt file. Make sure it is the factory to ddwrt file if flashing from the Linksys UI. I guess if this is a new router, that it could also be defective.
Also, if you have not reviewed this thread already it has some good info. Was started about the wrt1900ac v1, but the info holds true for thew wrt1900acs routers.
Just another thanks for this post. I recently picked up a WRT1900ACS as my backup router(to a netgate/pfSense appliance). I spent Saturday afternoon trying to load DD-WRT and no matter what I tried the current version would not load. I tried the one on the router DB page - no go. The factory firmware just would not die. I found your post and grabbed the 3 year old "factory-to-ddwrt" code and bang, first shot I had a dd-wrt load on the router.
I recently upgraded all my APs to WRT1200AC V2s and had similar trouble. Wish I had know this earlier.

Picked up a used 1900ACSv1 as a backup to my primary, which is also a WRT1900ACSv1 running DD-WRT. I have tried everything short of buying a serial cable to get this device to load the factory-to-DD-WRT from the Linksys stock GUI:
While running the latest Linksys 1.0.3.187766
1. tried latest dd-wrt 07-23-2020-r43904
2. tried dd-wrt 41418 from 2019
3. tried dd-wrt 36247 from 2018
4. tried dd-wrt 30731 from 2016
Back rev'ed the box to Linksys stock 1.0.0.169041 and tried all the above, again.
The device seems to take the firmware, reboots, comes up, shows activity on the NIC, but non-responsive - wireshark shows no activity on the LAN or WAN ports.
Only way to get access to the device is to use the reset function, which just boots Linksys stock firmware, again. ugh!
One interesting quirk I see on this device is that when I do a factory reset (either by red button or GUI), the device reboots and comes back up with the jumpstart GUI, but the IP addresses are assigned something random in the 10.x.x.x space, instead of 192.168.1.1. Only way to figure out which address it has it to connect via WIFI to see the default gateway.

Thoughts?
Hello,
I encountered the same problem with wrt1900acs v2, having the dddwrt version 07-18-2020-r43845.the Problem occurred after a week of using this version,
try to turn off the router for 20 minutes, you will start it with a reset factor from the button to start it only with the cable connected to the pc!
Close all programs that try to communicate with the router do not ping through cmd, or other things, enter the web interface and try to write this version of ddwrt: 40559 and from there write a version of linksys!
For me this worked,i managed to get back in interface with difficulty, i used the latest version waterfox browser..
Please don't be mad at me but ddwrt is full of bag, I think it's a lot of work to get him on the right track, I returned to openwrt and I am satisfied, it is stable! _________________ Internet provider https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCS_%26_RDS 1Gbps

Thanks, Guru! Up and running! Tried the 2019, but no dice...2018 version worked. Also, changed browser from FireFox to Chrome, but I already used Chrome in the prior attempts, so I think it was the combo of old Linksys 1.0.0 and the 2018 r34315 did the trick.
