I'm looking at trying the Firmware Modificaion Kit for my DIR-615 router, since there is only one pre-made build.

The basic instructions don't frighten me, but I'm unsure about where to get the add-ins. Specifically, I want the MMC and JFFS features that are currently missing, and would pull out languages and something else to make room. I don't see these in the open-wrt or Opt lists.

Am I going to have to try the un-recommended compile route?

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/

many builds here...

also DIR 615 has many hardware variations and models
next time when you posting make sure you provide more info
like, model/hardware number and and current build running on it....
Do keep in mind DIR 615 is a vary basic model with low ram and slow CPU and cannot handle great stuff....

yawn. None of the builds have JFFS and MMC. My current build is irrelevant - it runs well, but I want to make a new one. Hardware version I1. Adding JFFS and MMC would make it useful for my needs.

I will quietly wait for helpful replies.

Why don't you try openwrt instead of dd-wrt?
