I finally got the iptables on all three of my routers fixed so that the computers on networks beyond my layer three switch could reach the Internet. This turned out to be a Postrouting SNAT problem. I put the WRT1200ACv2 into production, and it seemed fine until I tried to download large files. It was way too slow. I compared its performance with the other routers, here is what I found regarding the download times for a 4 GB ISO file (from a wired computer on the network directly attached to the router):
WRT56GL r14929 mini-- 25-28 minutes
Netgear WNDR3700v4 r30385 std -- 25-28 minutes
Linksys 1200ACv2 r30471 -- 10-48 hours!
Linksys 1200ACv2 r30534 -- 4.5 hours!
Interestingly, all the devices show 25-28 mbps download speed and 5 mbps upload speed measured by DSLReports from multiple mirrors for this ISO file. |
