This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 30605_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

I went back to r29396. This is the last version that will allow usb drives for this model and I need this for YaMON3. This is reported in ticket 5467. _________________ Netgear R8000 - r50814 std - Main Router

I couldn't upgrade from the old build without using the router's built in recovery page, which is frustratingly usual for this router, but 30605 seems to run well on this router after flashing it.
I'm interested also...running a 6300v2 & heard that the builds after DD-WRT v3.0-r30432 std (08/16/16) are having problems with this router......
Kong, would you recommend running your builds on the 6300v2? And if so, include info about flashing over to your builds?
Thanks!!!!
In general there should be only minor differences between my and BS builds.
Of course since I ported all the netgear units I know more about them and can fix things usually faster, as I also have all the dumps from the ported units + I have most of the supported netgear models. E.g. Last BS build is too large for some netgear units and when BS did his last nvram change he broke things for a lot of netgear models and if he can't test or get proper feedback he won't know where the problem sits. _________________ KONG PB's: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/

What's the reason for not using this build? I've been running it on my Asus AC5300 without any issues, other than the usual lack of full support.
Does the build risk damaging the router?
Does not damage, but has a lot of known issues, as too large builds, wrong detection for a few models, and non working wireless on broadcom netgear models.
I fixed some of the issues right after BS uploaded his builds.
Thus you rather stick with the BS build before that or use my 30600 if you have one of my supported models. _________________ KONG PB's: http://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/

Thanks. I grabbed it from the site, so I don't believe that's your build.
It seems to be running just as well as all other builds on the AC5300. Maybe, a little better than the past ones. All of the AC5300 builds have issues with using full router functionality, but performs better than Merlin or the Asus firmware for in network transfers.
Think I'll just stick with this till the next build.
