Hi all,
I have a WRT54G v3.0, with dd-wrt.v24_mini_wrt54g.bin installed. (build 14929)
Installation went fine, then proceeded to set up as wired Access Point (AP) per long version of instructions on http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_access_point .
My primary router is Verizon FIOS ActionTec router.
Everything seems to work OK, EXCEPT:
I have (at least 1) device whose name is available through DNS on the primary router, but devices on the secondary router cannot find the device by name (using its direct IP address works OK). (Ping to name fails; ping to IP succeeds.)
On my Setup - Basic Setup page:
WAN connection type Static IP
WAN IP 192.168.1.199;
gateway is 192.168.1.1; and I have the gateway IP in my Static DNS 2 field.
Network Setup - Router IP:
Local IP address: 192.168.1.199
Gateway 192.168.1.1
Local DNS 192.168.1.1
I have turned off the 'use DNSMasq' checkboxes in the Network address server settings, and DHCP server is disabled.

Thanks for the reply, egc!
I changed the WAN Connection type to 'disabled'.
I already was leaving the WAN port empty.
No change in reaching the devices on the primary router by name.
