Correct soldering for serial connection on TL-WR740N

I have a 4.27 (I think identical to the one below, but that's 4.23).

I'm confused about how to solder it exactly for a serial connection. Does TX have to be soldered to tp18 AND connected to the UART adapter somehow? Thanks.

What makes you think you need to do a serial recovery?

Have you tried this...

The WR741 uses the same hardware as the WR740...
