how is the total traffic displayed under WAN status calculated? i factory reset my router and updated the firmware mid-month, and the numbers for total traffic don't match the numbers for the current month...shouldn't they?

What do you mean by factory reset?

30/30/30, sorry. went from the buffalo dd-wrt firmware to build 28444 (12/5/15), which a lot of people seemed to indicate works well with this router (and it has been rock solid)...the only glitch i've seen is that slight discrepancy in the bandwidth monitor.

edit: also, sorry, i thought i had indicated in my original post that this is a Buffalo WZR-1750DHPD (the one that came from the factory with their own dd-wrt installed on it)...

the gap has worsened over the past few days. now the daily traffic adds up to 72.5gb inbound and 9.2 outbound, while the total traffic says 12 in and 1.7 out.

anyone have any insight?

The traffic numbers (AFAIK) are stored as 4-byte unsigned integers... Integer overflow errors perhaps? Just a thought.

The "Total Traffic" is for the current up time, it will reset on reboot. The total monthly numbers shown below the chart should be accurate.
