How do I use a USB modem like the MF667 which on Windows or OSX creates ethernet over USB and you navigate to its web-ui to configure and connect?

I see the list of supported 3G/4G modems lists this device (ZTE MF667) as supported but doesn't explain how to get it to work.

Any help will be appreciated.

Am running DD-WRT v3.0-r29519 std (04/25/16) on an Archer C7 V2.

Thanks but that only applies if you have a modem that you can interact with.

These Ethernet over USB devices do not present as a modem, they present as an ethernet interface and your machine gets issued a DHCP address.

Looks like your router is an Atheros SoC router, for
my AR-unit, mobile broadband I had to use build 25760.
Newer builds had broken something in mobile broadband dongle support.

I don't understand why you want to use a USB device on your router? It has very slow throughput compared to the native Ethernet ports on the router.

Mobile internet (UMTS) does unfortunately not arrive to the subscriber in an ethernet cable. Smile

Now a days due to LTE feasible speed upto 50 Mbps is possible over USB LTE Modem/Dongal/Routers with Battery backup. Problem with this devices is they do not have ethernet interface, they use only wireless ethernet or usb over ethernet. Devices like Alcatel MW40CJ, ZTE MF90, Huawei E5573 etc.

There are DD WRT supported routers with USB ports, but I have not found any DD WRT image that supports USB over Ethernet Emulation.

If anyone knows about this please share, otherwise a firmware with that support will be appreciated.
