hehe I just bumped the Mega Bulid thread a little earlier today. What are the odds. I have a couple hours before I get home from work so if you get a chance to try it out please give some info
i flashed it and brick it.More test it´s neccesary.
how did you flash it? I grabbed two 5.1mb files. That cannot be right for flashing through redboot _________________ RT-AC66U (asuswrt-merlin 374.43 LTS V44EA)

For the Fonera, I highly recommend flashing from RedBoot> and since the file sizes will now be very different, has BS included new instructions, memory adresses to load and fis create those images accordingly? You'll brick your Fonera if your not careful. So, don't flash from webui if it does gets released.

BS only put two 5.1MB files in that folder. No instructions. _________________ RT-AC66U (asuswrt-merlin 374.43 LTS V44EA)

I wonder how LONG!!!!! it'll take to flash a FON2200. My guess at least 30 minutes. Most browsers would timout before the flashing completes. So, my guess flashing from RedBoot is a MUST. He should make it clear in the firmware directory as to not allow webgui upgrades and disable that feature once and for all.
Personally I think BS should create a portable platform independent Java/JavaScript based firmware updater utility that'll flash, display the progress, and verify all his firmware updates. It'll be more immune to browser errors. Different version of the same browser and/or different platforms create unique issues/crashes it seems. And it'll create alot less headache for the less familiar users who do not understand "TFTP or RedBoot" commands.
I agree that BS should disable or put a warning about some of the options in the webgui. Stuff like JFFS2 obviously don't work on what appears to be all Atheros based hardware without some user modification yet its still there letting you enable it.
That reminded me of a question, Wireless tab has a Basic settings tab, so uhhh... where is the Advanced tab?
Anyway, I got a F*n 2100E and already flashed with RC5, but waiting for the mega build!
the files are back, but what am i supposed to do with those 5.1MB files? How do I flash them? :
Shouldnt there be 2 files for flashing through redboot: root.fs and vmlinux.bin.l7?
btw, MD5 checksums of these files are different from the ones posted previously. So some changes were made. _________________ RT-AC66U (asuswrt-merlin 374.43 LTS V44EA)
