As some of you have asked for it and Kong hasn't said anything about sharing it again, here you have. This is the "update" file, to be flashed from DD-Wrt. If anybody needs the "fresh" file to flash from LinkSys firmware, please say it (I don't have it right now but it's stored at home).

I suspect the file above is for v1?
I missed out on Kong's v3.0-r29020M 02/04 build for my WRT1900ACv2 and certainly would be interested and grateful if someone could post the factory_to_dd-wrt.img for it.
Seeing all the great comments about this build, really want to try it out!

Yes, sorry, forgot to mention. Unfortunately I only have WRT1900AC v1 builds
Regards.
Pd. Here you have the .img build to install from OEM firmware:
Just wondering how solid this build is? and how the wireless reviews on it?
I have the v1 too and just wondering how this build is since it seem everyone is recommending to use compare to the most update version of Kong.
It's been my "production" firmware since its release. I have some problems with PPPoE connection not being established on cold booting, but they happen with BS builds too (seems related to double VLAN of my ISP). At least once that I remember I had to reboot the router due to slow WiFi speeds. And my Ricoh wireless printer works flawlessly (a nightmare with LinkSys or OpenWRT firmware...).
Sorry but i have to ask what is the difference with both version you gave?
One is the bin and the other is factory are they not the same image?
Thank you
The .bin one is to be installed from DD-wrt, the .img one is to be installed from factory (LinkSys) interface. If the router boots LinkSys firmware use the .img to install, if it boots in another build of DD-wrt use the .bin.
Just installed this version and it seems to be the best one so far that I tried. The throughput in my room still doesn't seem to be as fast as the stock as the signal seems to be weaker (100Mbs max out internet speed vs ~60Mbs with dd-wrt kong). Even though the ping is also worst than stock ~30 vs ~10, however, the response time seems much better and overall leads to better experience all around. For example, with the stock fw I can't play 1080p on youtube without buffering every few seconds for some reason even though my speed is more than enough. With this fw, I can play any 1080p and seeking around the video is very fast.
I'm going to keep using this fw to see if it's stable but so far so good.
