I just wanted to throw this info out there, because I'm very happy with it.

I've used DD-WRT on two routers for about 6 years now--the Asus RT-N16 and the Netgear R7000. I've appreciated DD-WRT but always experienced noticeable bugs and/or had to setup regular reboots.

I don't know if this firmware is hosted anywhere anymore, but if anybody wants to try it out, here is Kong's 27525M build that I'm using on my R7000:

Long, useless reading:
I've been using this Kong build and it's been the most stable and usable DD-WRT firmware for me in many years. I probably don't make use of as many features as I should, but QOS works well on my 200/20mbit connection without dragging down the speed, my wireless devices aren't constantly disconnecting, and I've had no need to reboot the router. Regarding wireless devices before my current firmware, the best situation I managed was with a previous Kong build on the R7000--2.4ghz devices were good, 5ghz devices were ok, but my Galaxy S4 with Cyanogenmod would reconnect about once every 45-60 seconds, but the OEM S4 was the same semi-reliable as the rest of the devices. If a firmware had the 5ghz devices reconnecting every few hours, then the S4 would do the same, but slightly better stability on other devices went hand-in-hand with worse stability with the Cyanogenmod S4 (again, the OEM S4 was fine, and the OEM R7000 firmware had no issues with the Cyanogenmod S4). My two Roku sticks on 5ghz stay connected for days at a time, my Cyanogenmod S4 will stay connected as long as I'm using it and it doesn't go into deep sleep, and my S4 once had a Speedtest downstream speed of about 270megabits (not a typo) when I had my 300mbit service. The limitation on 5ghz speed on this firmware, as best I can tell, is only due to my apartment complex neighbors' wifi interference. I had more of a niche problem with the Cyanogenmod-based S4, so even when things seemed great for other people using DD-WRT, I often managed to have that problem, even on my RT-N16 on 2.4ghz...the problem disappeared if I used the OEM router firmware and I didn't have issues on any friends' wifi networks.

I'm hesitant to flash a newer version, despite my upgrade addiction, because this has been so solid and I don't think there's anything buggy at all for my usage.

Here's a screenshot (whited out a few things), so you know I'm not mistaken and saying that I haven't had a problem for 199 days--it's actually been on without a reboot for 199 days, and I've had zero issues in my usage:
