Is this a bad temperature for my router?

Na shouldnt be an issue if u nearing 90 and above then u might wanna worry. This is the general consensus for all models generally. _________________ Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r31924 std (05/02/17)

You have to consider the room temperature where the router is located. The room temperature is higher during summer time so the router temperature will get higher as well.
I use a laptop cooling pad (cheap one) got my router's CPU temp down more than 20 degrees, this is your best bet after putting in consideration what the fellas already said about factors that affect the router's temps _________________ D-Link DIR-880L

Not particularly. My RT-AC66U is wall-mounted, and I cooled it from 55°C to 43°C by putting a squirrel cage blower against the side. _________________ [Broadcom] Asus rt-ac66u r35531 ('66 should only be factory reset through the DD UI)

The CPU on my R7000 usually runs at around 55°C, give or take several degrees. Mine is wall mounted so I *think* I get generally good airflow over the internals. If you're getting near 80°C you might want to consider one of the cooling options mentioned in this thread. _________________ Netgear R7000: v3.0-r54248 std (11/29/23)

Mine is OC'd from 1.0GHz to 1.4GHz I do have a small fan blowing air over the outside of the unit.
This is on the WXR-1900DHP.
MOD EDIT - keep images 800x600 max. _________________ Routers:

So I've installed dd-wrt onto my linksys 2000 router and turned it into a repeater bridge but it keeps having issues , I keep having to reboot the linksys 2000, and I feel it is a temperature issue. How do I pull up the CPU temp of this router as I have seen ya'll do in these other posts. I have only installed the webflash image for first installation build 21061 as provided on the ddwrt website also I have followed the wiki steps under the useful tips portion . However for some reason it will not allow me to change my wireless channel
To channel 9 as indicated in the steps. Currently I am running on channel 6 as is the primary router .
1st of all, not all CPU has build in temperature sensor especially not for older and lower end CPU. Hence, I don't think dd-wrt for E2000 has temperature reading feature at all. As per this wiki for E2000: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E2000 it suggests to use lower Tx power setting to 50mW instead of the default 71mW so try that and see if it helps on the reboot issue. You may also try even lower Tx power setting such as 32mW.
As for the other issue, I am afraid I don't get it clearly. Is your E2000 still working as a repeater? As for the primary router, is it another router and it is working at channel 6? If yes to both, your repeater should also be set to channel 6 and not channel 9. I.e. your repeater router should use the same channel as your primary router. Please clarify if my understanding is not correct.

the linksys 2000 is my Repeater Bridge and my other router that I am receiving internet via COX is my primary. Both Routers are set to Channel 6, I have already lowered the Tx Power setting to 50mW on my E2000. the only place I got the channel 9 idea from was http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E2000 I have read in some other forums about how the E2000 was overclocked from the factory to 354mhz when it is in fact a 300 mhz CPU. and please know I am doing all this via WI-FI rather than direct connect via an ethernet cable from repeater bridge to Primary Router. so my primary router and repeater bridge are connected to each other via WIFI. now one this I have noticed is that when I have my laptop connected to my repeater bridge via ethernet cable I don't have connectivity issues where as when I use wifi to connect the issues start up and my e2000 gets hot. also when this occurs my laptop is still connected to my E2000 via ethernet and it maintains internet connectivity and wifi functionality to other devices becomes an issue . I have thought about either lowering the CPU on the E2000 back to 300mhz OR installing an internal fan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Zo3zkMhYio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QZvQE6yT5o
I agree... but I am still curious why my wifi is failing from my devices connected to my repeater bridge but my ethernet connection is not. this is happening right now as I am typing this post. my PC is connected via ethernet cat6 to my repeater bridge which is successfully connection via wifi to my primary router. and yet my repeater bridge will not accept wifi connectivity.

I work in high end diagnostic equipment for the semiconductor industry (for 32 years now)...one of the biggest killers of electronics is heat. I try to keep all my routers as cool as possible. I installed a 120mm fan (with a variable speed circuit) on each of my routers. Here are the temperatures from my 2 R7000 units....pictures and drawing for circuit are in the HW DIY forum.
