This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 28882_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

Any other feedback with DD-WRT v3.0-r28882 std (01/19/16) on a WRT1900AC v1?

I have noticed that Marvell beta testers are not posting their beta testing here either, sure would be helpful to see how releases are performing, which will help BrainSlayer and others.

Marvell users, please post your BS beta testing results in this thread. Thanks!

...and your testing results are?

I did apply the F/W from 16th Jan on my WRT1900AC v1 and so far, so good.

I have not bothered to apply the F/W from 19th Jan as there is nothing obvious in the release notes that applies to the WRT1900AC v1.

The problem with the release notes is that they are far too brief and cryptic. Perhaps if they were more user friendly, people would be more inclined to take a punt with new F/W, rather than waiting for others to prove it first.

I tried this and the previous build and had the same issue: when using the WRT1900AC as a bridge, the transfer rates are really slow. Less than 10 mbps vs 80 mpbs on stock firmware.

I have a WRT1900acv2 and I tried firmware 28882, but my 5ghz wireless speeds when running a speed test went from my usual 28mbps to around 17-20mbps. So I returned to build 28846 and everything is back to normal.

I also use WRT1900ACv1 and I notice the network speed is much slower, when trying to transfer file from network, I only get speed around 2MBps, where using previous build I can get around 20-25MBps.
instead of that, the ping latency to gateway is significantly improved (single digit latency).
Additional info, I am using ASUS USB-AC56 as my wifi adapter and running Wireless AC 5GHz.

I'll chime in with similar 5Ghz results on my WRT1900ACv1.

AFTER upgrading to r28882.

Was streaming a movie last night via Amazon Prime (TV uses my dedicated 5Ghz network), it kept switching from HD to SD during playback. It was driving me nuts. It's never done that before.

After that movie, we watched two more via Plex (local streaming. LAN is 1Gbps switched everything is hard wired except the TV). Twice the movie stopped and we needed to restart it. Again, that has never previously happened.

I assume something changed in r28882 in regards to performance on the 5Ghz network.

If I am not misreading this build applies new wifi driver. Could be this as the cause.

I think you're right. I rolled back to r28846. Snowed in for the weekend, so my TV will be routing plenty of 5Ghz traffic to test!

The new Wifi driver was added in 28788 see the following change log thread.

So the general feeling is that people are rolling back to r28846 because it's relatively stable?

Indeed, I am waiting for the newest build from BS, and I hope this will be solved, otherwise downgrading is the best option currently ;)
