Today I flashed my router with the latest firmware version available(Build 17201). From here: ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2011/06-14-11-r17201/broadcom/dd-wrt.v24_mega_DIR-330.bin
Did everything as required with 30/30/30 reset.

I need to use it with Huawei E160E 3G HSDPA USB Stick modem.

I tried to find something usefull on the forum. But had no success.

When I plug modem in and reboot the router I do not see 3G/UMTS option in WAN Connection Types. Should this option be there?

Then I tried to follow http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Cellular_Phone/USB_Modem_as_WAN_connection page

I have uploaded acm and usbserial kernel modules and initialized them.
Code:
insmod acm.o
insmod usbserial.o

dmesg showed that everything is OK.
Code:
usb.c: registered new driver acm
acm.c: v0.21:USB Abstract Control Model driver for USB modems and ISDN adapters
usb.c: registered new driver serial
usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered for Generic
usbserial.c: USB Serial Driver core v1.4

I replugged the modem. dmesg showed that I have no driver for it.
Code:
hub.c: new USB device 00:03.0-1, assigned address 2
usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x12d1/0x1001) is not claimed by any active driver.

I do not know what to do next.

Please help. Question

There is afaik no 3G support in dd-wrt kernel 2.4 builds - the reason for why you also had to add usbserial and acm modules.

Maybe but I don't know difference between kernel 2.4 and 2.6 regarding support for all the necessary modules and the difference in system devices created.
It is probably quite difficult and I can't help you with it except saying that you need the option.ko module as serial driver.

You would have to script connection strings in order to connect but I don't know how to make this connection as wan connection when there is no support for it in the gui.

Scrap the idea? Smile
